As I write this, I am getting ready to head over to the Cherry Lane for the first Saturday night show of the run. It occurs to me, that I am almost – almost – relaxed. In a lot of ways, the hard part is over with. Last weeks load in and tech were non-stop hard and stress as they always are. Thankfully, with InViolet, there are so many people who were there to help in all kinds of ways.
The show is our best. The set and design elements are great. The play as well. And the actors are deliveing every night. Even if they are slightly off from the peak one night, they are still flat out amazing, and the audiences have been loving it.
I head back to Atlanta on Monday. I hate to leave, but am also more than ready. I need some time to relax. To play with Hank and Peggy. To give them and my mom a hug and say thank you for making these last fifteen days putting up InViolet’s fourth world premiere possible.
Two hours till curtain.
Go team.
