Storyteller, and Enabler of Storytellers

Not Delivering

Written By: Michael - Aug• 06•12

Right now, my InViolet Co-Artisitc Director Angela Razzano and I are reading plays submitted by our fellow members for our retreat mid August. The retreat is a purely magical time and you can read previous posts (or future ones) to learn more about it. A play we’re not reading, however, is MERCURYS IN RETROGRADE, my new play that I have not written. I brought the beginnings of it to the retreat two years ago – it was greeted with much excitement – and have tried to finish it since. I have pledged publcily to have first drafts written several times.

With zero success.

It’s embarrassing to encourage the other writers in our group and completely not be able to produce myself.

I’m hoping that the love and inspiration that retreat exudes will be enough to help me get this project completed (at least a first draft). And if that doesn’t work, maybe the anger I feel that I am not sharing any writing this year (a first for me) will help.

Fucking Mercury.

What do you do when you’re not producing?
